The Fan, Campus, & Beyond

Don’t like lycra? No worries. A bike offers you the best family-friendly way to leisurely check out neighborhoods like Carytown, Oregon Hill, the Fan, the Museum District, Northside, and Church Hill.*

Spend a morning at the VMFA and an afternoon at the American Civil War Center, stopping along the way for lunch at Lamplighter. Or ride around VCU and grab a vegetarian lunch at the legendary Ipanema. Check out the Poe Museum, St. John’s Church and the Design District, stopping for lunch at Proper Pie in Church Hill. Go to Bryan Park’s azalea garden and then refuel at The Mill in Bellevue. Take in Hollywood Cemetery and grab an early dinner at the infamous Mamma Zu. Whatever you choose to do, the city is (mostly) flat and gives you plenty of options to work up an appetite.

* A bike lock, meanwhile, offers you the ability to stop and walk around.
