Carytown Bicycle Company Adds Southside Location
Locally owned bike shop expands to serve growing cycling culture south of the James.

Richmond, VA (April 1, 2015) Carytown Bicycle Company has added a second location in Chesterfield County. Carytown Bicycle Company’s new location in Westchester Commons has opened its doors to the growing community of cyclists on the Southside, from road riders to mountain bikers to parents looking to get their children involved in a family-friendly sport.

Carytown Bicycle Company has been operating out of its flagship location on Cary Street for eight years and has grown a fan base far beyond the city limits. Co-Owner Tim Mullins, who grew up on the Southside, saw an underserved area where cyclists could benefit from a bike shop whose core values are community involvement and industry-leading bike expertise.

Mullins views the area as a prime location for an expanding bike culture. “I live in the Southside, and these are some best areas to ride in Virginia. The locals are friendly to cyclists, and our staff and customers always have a great experience riding here.” With Pocahontas State Park nearby and great road routes located along the Westchester Commons corridor, the shop will serve as a base for some of the best bike riding in Central Virginia.

The store offers most of the same products and services it currently provides at its flagship location: a full-service maintenance and repair facility for both new and used bikes, as well as market leading brands of bicycles and accessories for every rider--children to adults, beginners to experts.

CBC’s Southside location does plan on tailoring the product selection and services to better serve the specific needs of the area. Customers can expect a more diverse selection of family products and services, as well as future plans to include outdoor and adventure products including camping and running accessories.

Carytown Bicycle Co. is invested in getting people excited about bikes and is dedicated to finding the right style of riding for everyone. “We are owned by cyclists, we are staffed by cyclists. We eat breathe and sleep this stuff. This is what we do,” said Mullins.
